Dyno Services

Pre Dyno Tuning Checklist:

·  Fuel: A full tank of fresh fuel is needed!  If you bring your own fuel please bring in a fresh can

·  Tires: Rear tire must be in good shape...no nails, screws, bald, cords showing or tire plugs will be run on the dyno.

·  Bodywork: Race bike remove the upper and lower...Streetbike it depends on the bike. We need to get the heat out if the bodywork has nice size openings then we can deal with that. Look at where the exhaust is if it is real close to the bodywork it can melt. So most of the time at least the side fairings must be removed.

·  Engine: Engine should be in good shape otherwise why bother tuning it? Air filter should be clean and spark plugs should be fresh. Valve adjustment should be current. We need the air injection plugged some are easy to get to and we will take care of it but some bikes are gettting hard to get to the air hoses.

Common issues that will stop us from tuning.

·  Worn out chains and sprockets

·  Oil leaks

·  Excessive noise from valve train components indicating the need for adjustment.

·  Issues found during initial dyno run.

Disclaimer:

·  We reserve the right to refuse tuning of any motorcycle found to be mechanically dangerous. We are not responsible for any machine that fails on the dyno.

Dyno Tuning Cost:

We charge $75/per Hr. cruisers normally take around 2 hrs and sport bikes a little more. This is just an estimate and certain makes and models may take more or less time , please give us a call we will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Please note that the actual dyno time includes complimentary safety check and chain adjustment if it is necessary and must be done in order to have the motorcycle run on our dyno machine.

For custom tuning/mapping on sport bikes, the side fairings must be removed to be able to move more air around the engine and to get to the ignition coils and air injection hoses. There will be a small fee for removing plastics, if you wish not to do it on your own. Again please give us a call for more info for specific applications.

Simple Horsepower run costs $30.00 , this will give you your current horsepower figure also Air/Fuel ratio read out, we can also look at the data and see if HP can be improved by tuning.

Equipment: We have the Dynojet 250i with load control system used the latest in eddy current power absorption technology. We also utilize the "Tuning Link Software" which interfaces the power commander with Dynojet load control dynomometer controlling both the dynomometer and the power commander at the same time.

By utilizing the Dynojet "Real Time" air/fuel ratio monitoring equipment and the latest load control technology , Tuning link monitors the current air/fuel ratio, at the same time automatically calculates the correct fuel adjustment to achieve user desired air/fuel ratio. The tuning link has the ability to map fuel curves in both "static" and "dynamic" modes. This assures that the generated fuel curves are correct for both steady state cruising as well as during aggressive on/off throttle movements. This technology allows us to accurately optimize the motorcycle in a very short time, regardless of the motorcycle's modifications. We can create a fuel curve that is good for performance at wide open throttle applications and yet still keep good fuel economy at lower rpm and smaller throttle openings.

So, you have just installed a very good X brand of exhaust system and your fuel mileage is greatly suffering, you want good performance but at the same time don't want to burn excessive fuel in town and slow speeds. We can help...  a lot of the times people install and spend huge amount of money on full exhaust systems and never bother to optimize their fueling, it is a simple fact, anytime exhaust flow changes so does fueling needs, your expensive exhaust system in nothing other than set of loud pipes. This is true with cruisers and sport bikes, especially the latest sport bikes with extreme cam profiles, everything has to match so you really have a high performance street machine it really runs at its best.

Update as of 12/01/2010

We can now do ECU flashing, which means "Air/Fuel" adjustment and a lot more can be done without the power commander or equivalent. Currently we can adjust/tune all years of Suzuki Hayabusa and B-King as well as all triumph models, please call us for details.

So far we can tune by using;

All Power Commander models, Bazzaz, TuneECU, ECUeditor.
